Welcome to the New Parent Podcast, I am so excited that you’ve found your way here. This podcast is a place for parents from all walks of life to share their candid stories about the transition into parenthood.
As I’ve reached out to my friends and family about my own postpartum issues and the ups and downs of new parenthood, I’ve often gotten a response along the lines of “Oh yeah, no one talks about that, but…”
If so many of us are struggling with the same issues, why does it seem like the (nonjudgemental) support for new parents is so lacking? There are tons of websites about baby’s milestones and when to expect them, but where are the sites that talk about all the other stuff? Feeding issues, lack of family leave, bizarre marital tensions, contradictory emotions, returning to work or staying home, changing relationships with your parents and in-laws, the loss of friends, and sorting through all the baffling advice that is heaped upon us? Oy! It’s enough to make your head spin!
So that’s where the New Parent Podcast comes in. No topic is off limits as we explore this beautiful, stressful, and often bewildering time of transformation. On the New Parent Podcast you’ll hear stories from families from all walks of life who are in the trenches and willing to talk about what’s actually going on in there. We’re not offering advice, we’re offering a window.
I am currently taking submissions, so if you think you’d like to be featured on the show please reach out to me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Episodes will begin airing in early 2017 so stay tuned!
Love and solidarity,
